Tools
It’s a pleasure to give credit to Michael Dell and his Guangzhou colleagues for my new e5510 widescreen laptop computer, to Steven Ballmer and his OS whiz kids for Windows 7, to Matt Mullenweg and his teammates at WordPress for their blogging software, and to Arun Kale of The Masterplan for The Morning After magazine-style theme — the essential tools used to craft and present truthalyzer.com.
In addition, I depend on Mozilla Firefox for internet browsing, Adobe Photoshop for image editing, and NoteTab, from Fookes Software, for drafting posts and editing CSS and PHP files. And to answer the question that the foregoing may have suggested to you, no, I have not received any considerations for mentioning all those products. The stuff works so well, I just felt I should give some credit.

Another question that has probably occurred to those who follow truthalyzer.com is why I have replaced my iMac desktop computer with a Dell laptop. The simple answer is that in doing so I have gained several times the computing power of the iMac packed into a lightweight package I can take anywhere, and at less than half the price of a comparable Apple product. The more complicated answer has to do with my reaction to Apple’s transformation from the open-minded, customer-friendly alternative to “Big Brother” corporations like IBM to a company that seems intent on becoming the most controlling and customer-demeaning in the business. I’m a long-time Apple user (my first computer was an Apple II), but I can no longer support a company whose operating systems are increasingly dumbed-down, whose products are ever more closed and proprietary, whose applications are censored, and which now threatens to spy on its customers.
But enough about my tools. The primary reason for the Credits page is to give proper recognition to the sources of the photos that appear on truthalyzer.com.
